Presley Architecture is a small midwest firm that primarily designs residences and small commercial buildings. Four areas of concentration are:
Greg Presley has many areas of design interest based on his background and experience. These include:
- historic preservation (M Arch., University of Michigan, 1984, historic preservation)
- energy efficiency (Detroit Edison Co. solar research architect, 1978-1984)
- new urbanism (B Arch., U Mich., 1972, urban planning; small residential projects since 1997)
- "not-so-big" home design (design emphasis since 1998)
Greg's design philosophy has evolved based on learnings gained over the past twenty years, such as:
- good design emphasizes quality of space over size (human scale is important)
- good design is contextual (buildings should fit in surroundings, alterations seamless)
- good design heals (proportion and balance soothe the soul)
- good design is timeless (buildings should stand the test of time)
