Main Center Building - 2005
This 15,000 square foot adaptive reuse of East Jordan’s most prominent downtown building (circa 1900) received the Governor's Award for Historic Preservation in 2007. As the building sits on 80 feet of bog, a helical foundation system was used to stabilize the structure. All walls but one exterior wall were preserved and much of the interior wall fabric and trim were also saved. This project has since been a catalyst for recent downtown redevelopment.
The “white knight” builder responsible for assembling the design/build team as well as the development partner team is Todd and Floyd Wright Builders of nearby Boyne City.
