Lake homes are just plain fun to design. Perhaps this is because their purpose is primarily centered around providing a context for family entertainment. Generally they are informal structures and smaller in scale. The architect's challenge is to utilize every cubic foot in a creative and interesting way to express the owner's unique family needs. the design emphasis is on whatever contributes to the "fun" factor, which sometimes can be mildly irreverent or even whimsical.
